Reporting to: Employability Team Leader
Location: Based at home or in the community working across Hertfordshire but locations will be considered based on proximity to home address.
Teaching/Assessing
- Maintain a good understanding of the development and delivery of learning programmes that meet the needs of learners
- Explore and develop your understanding to utilise multiple and diverse teaching and learning strategies
- Delivery of training in a group setting that engages learners through an in-depth, differentiated and tailored learning experiences
- Plan and deliver training courses in a group setting either face to face or online to learners of varying abilities
- An understanding of curriculum design and different assessment methods used across a range of programmes and the ability to adapt to new qualifications as required
- Have a good level of IT competence in order to manager online classrooms and develop/create suitable online and paper-based resources
- Attend regular standardisation and team meetings
- Be responsible in managing your own CPD including attending CPD sessions provided internally and externally and your own independent research and development
- Maintain an up-to-date CPD log that is relevant to the curriculum you deliver
- Ensure you read and action any IQA reports to ensure learner work and assessment decisions are being managed appropriately
Learner Management
- Support learners to achieve outcomes that include jobs, training and other agreed progression opportunities
- Able to motivate and support learners to complete their training courses in a timely manner in accordance with agreed timelines in the business
- Manage data relating to individual learner targets including working with other colleagues to ensure the onward progression of learners.
- Support the more capable learners by providing them with more stretch and challenging activities
- Provide specific and meaningful feedback and support to learners to help them progress
- The ability to assess learner needs and set robust plans and targets to meet their needs on an individual basis and manage their progression
- Motivate and manage some of the more disengaged people
- Ability to engage and inspire people of all backgrounds
- The ability to manage a classroom and deal with difficult behaviour with a firm but professional approach
- Utilise LSA support where it is provided to ensure learners are supported appropriately
- Update learner records where outcome information has been provided (on Pro-solutions)
- Ensure all learner data is kept up to date where any changes have been notified
- Use systems provided to confirm leaner attendance in a timely manner
Digital Competencies
- You will be required to use multiple IT applications such as PowerPoint, Word, emails and additional IT tools to support interactive delivery methods
- You will be responsible for updating attendance and other learner data using internal systems (Pro-Solutions)
- Use the online classroom management system to manage learner work (Google Classroom) and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of changes and tools available to add to kit
- You will be given a full Microsoft account that you will use to maintain contact with your team and learners, using Teams and all other comms tools within it
- You will have access to the staff intranet where you can access all resources and company information you should require in your role
Performance Management
- Monitor own performance using score card data and attend review meeting as required
- Reflect on your own performance and review fortnightly as required for some of our funders
- Ensure you are meeting deadlines and completing courses within agreed timelines
- Maintain a smart, professional, and responsible approach to work and represent SPS Training in job centres and at events as required
- Ability to work independently at outreach locations and from home to manage your group of learners to completion
- Complete all other tasks as required by your employer/manager to support the needs of the business
